If I Get a Divorce, Can I Keep Our House?
Hello, I'm Tycha Kimbrough, the managing attorney of Kimbrough Legal. If you're contemplating a divorce, or currently going through a divorce, you're probably wondering if you can keep the marital home. If you and your partner can reach an agreement, then absolutely you can keep the home. On the other hand, if this is a situation where a judge has to decide, a judge will do a just and right division, and you may not be able to keep the marital home. It could include the house being sold and the proceeds being split.
