Hybrid Family Law Paralegal – Austin TX
We’re looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You’ll draft legal documents such as affidavits, prepare briefs, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. Responsibilities
- Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence, including subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, and legal briefs
- Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and conducting legal research
- Manage law office activities such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
- Perform administrative duties, including answering phone calls and maintaining an organized case filing system
- Conduct client interviews to gather information about legal matters
- Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems

- Coordinate law office activity, including the drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
- Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
- Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer
Qualifications
- 3+ years as a Family Law Paralegal in the state of Texas (non-negotiable)
- Ideally, candidates should hold a Paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education (preferred)
- Applicants must be able to provide proof of possessing a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintaining automobile insurance
- Clear, concise, and effective communication skills, coupled with a positive attitude, are essential qualities for this role
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email is a must, with familiarity in legal software is a must
- Strong organizational and time-management skills are crucial for success in this position
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in writing and grammar, are fundamental requirements for this role
- ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
- Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred
- 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
Compensation
$28 – $30 hourly
