What steps do I need to take to establish the paternity of my child?
Hi, I'm Tycha Kimbrough. If you just had a child and you are in an unmarried relationship, there are certain things that you must do in order to establish paternity. You can, one, either sign an acknowledgement of paternity or to obtain a court order. It is very important to note that signing a birth certificate alone does not establish paternity.
